A Spring Fling Darling

Spring has sprung which means the Spring racing season has begun in Australia. There is nothing like going to the races. The individuality and elegant style of race wear is classic and timeless. It is one of the few occasions where the more daring and outrageous your hat or fascinator, the better. As we saw in Spring Fashion week Richard Nylons millinery designs had people in awe and have certainly inspired some authentic and fabulous headwear this season. Get creative, make your own hat or fascinator, you don’t have to spend a lot to look good.

If you are thinking about coordinating a races outfit, colour blocking and monochrome is always on trend, along with pretty and delicate lace and flirty florals. A good pair of heels is a must but make sure they are comfy enough to wear all day, because nothing looks worse than walking around bare foot in an elegant dress. Always remember individuality in style is imperative. Be creative, be inventive, be authentic and exude elegance.

Whilst the fashion draws you in, it is the ambiance and vibe of the races and the venues that keep you coming back. The excitement of a race paired champagne or cocktail with friends is just perfect. It is as much about the experience as it is fashion and Flemington Spring Racing Carnival provides it all.

I am going to let you in on a little secret. If you are heading to the races this season, whether you are a local or a visitor, the Schweppes Flemington Fling bar has got it going on. From delicious Agrum, lime and mint cocktails (The Flemington Fling), great music, fabulous people including talented DJ Andy Murphy and of course a great view of the racing track; the venue is certainly the place to be. I mean who doesn’t want to check out the gorgeous frocks of the who’s who.

Over the next few weeks we will be keeping up with the incredible fashions on the field straight from the Spring Racing carnival. So keep watching this space.
