There I am, at Jim and Jane, said neighbourhood object of my infatuation. I quickly realise that with winter coming t-shirts are in short supply; they sold out during sunnier months. Sanity goes out the window. I’m desperate to buy a white t-shirt, if for no other reason than writing about it made me obsessed. In a moment of sheer madness, I buy the only white t-shirt in the shop, and I pay… Continue reading
I’m allergic to basics. My closet is stuffed with patterns and bright colours, and guess what? Nothing goes together.
Once upon a time I had luxurious hours to try on millions of combinations to find that perfect pattern clash, but these days a bouncy toddler sits on my feet and demands muffins when I get dressed, so I need to be quick and organised. I’m not saying I’m going to stop wearing patterns, I’m just saying that throwing a cotton t-shirt into the mix, or maybe buying a second pair of jeans might make life a bit easier.

About 4 months ago on one of my regular trips to Bali, I walked into one of my favourite concept stores in Bali This is a Love Song and found a little gem hiding behind it. Walking into Seminyak cafe Revolver, felt more like I was in Melbourne than in Bali. With its edgy vintage like interior the cafe instantly had my attention. Taking one sip of the coffee there and I definitely fell in love.
Australian owner Katie Allan has definitely started a coffee culture in Bali and has set the bar very high. In my opinion Revolver has the best coffee in Seminyak if not the whole of Bali. I am yet to find a coffee as good anywhere else on the island and when you come from Melbourne like me, coffee is essential to getting through the day. (not that a day in Bali is hard to get through) My pick? The soy latte. Absolute perfection.

The time has come, once again, to showcase a store that we absolutely adore. If you’re looking for an online boutique that is a complete one-stop holiday shop and a fantastic We Are Handsome stockist to boot, then look no further.
Enter Beach Flamingo. An online store to fulfil all your holiday (or home) swim needs. It’s the fashion pack’s version of an online Disneyland.
Beach Flamingo stock harder to find swimwear brands from around the world including WAH (of course!), as well as a range of cover-ups, beach bags and handmade leather sandals.
With so much choice (think Disneyland, remember?), Beach Flamingo definitely has something for every woman – whether you’re 16 or 60, or somewhere in between. The aim is for everyone to find something no matter their age or shape.
If you’re wondering about the wonderful people who run this veritable Disneyland of Swimwear, trust me, you’re in good hands. Beach Flamingo is run by sisters Lily and Jessica, along with their mother Jacqueline. Lily is Shopping Editor at Grazia UK and made us insanely jealous when she revealed she has a personal collection of over 40-50 bikinis. Jessica is a retail expert who has 10 years experience and after dressing women for over a decade, has an understanding of what real women are looking for. Jacqueline used to be a model and appeared in Vogue in the seventies. Jacqueline has always remained the source of beach style inspiration for both of her daugthers, with her passion for chic cover-ups, pretty sandals, hair bobbles and glamourous bikinis.

All you NYC cool kids, stop what you’re doing right this moment and head over to Owen.
Conceptualised and run by Phillip Salem, Owen is the latest We Are Handsome stockist and simply one of our favourite stores. “We hope to make the client feel exceptional in the clothes they buy and skin they live in.” Says Phillip.
“Fashion to me is a preference, not a rule, so I focus on pieces that are modern, structured and detail oriented – with a subtle flair for the dramatic”.
If the difference is in the detail, then Owen has you covered. From the spectacular decor, to their creative atmosphere, to their celebration of both emerging and established brands, Owen is definitely a New York space to watch. The fact that the OWEN training manual’s first page reads, “Everyone that walks in the door should be treated like Beyoncé” (um, YES PLEASE) only makes us love them that much more.
Ps. Are you all freaking out over the walls? Who needs paint when you have paper bags? We’ve have been showing off the pictures all week. Check out more gorgeous photos after the jump. Continue reading
