Nice, France – 2012
There’s something about this image of model Christine Unruh shot by Marie Schmidt. It has that undeniable presence that one can’t quite put their finger on…
I stumbled across the wonderful photos by biologist Alexander Semenov this morning and just had to share them. these jellyfish shots are just a tiny part that make up his amazing “Underwater Experiments” series – which you can get lost in for HOURS!
Filmmaker Vitùc recognized the importance of these small moments and collected several dozen of them in his new video short called The Pleasure Of that was shot in part with an iPhone 4s.
This wonderful little film brings together a mess of single little snippets of life to widen the eyes of every viewer. Well done.
Californian label Del Playa Drive has branched out into menswear with a seriously cool collection of board shorts. What we like about these guys is that they don’t take fashion or themselves too seriously. They’re in the business of making clothes we actually want to wear that aren’t going to leave us feeling like we’ve been robbed.
As most of you already know, the We Are Handsome blog is an avenue that we use to share our loves, inspiration and things that generally make us happy, smiley people. This year, we’re amping up the blog and recruiting some of our favourite people to be guest bloggers and share a little of their world with you.
This month is the lovely Emily Fang, who runs fashion blog Little Black Book. Emily was kind enough to share with us how she would style the WAH one piece, and hopefully give you all a few ideas in the process!
How To Style The One Piece:
Many of you might be thinking you aren’t adventurous or daring enough to wear a one piece as a bodysuit, or think the only thing you can do is wear shorts over them to make them look a bit more snazzy.
I actually love to wear my We Are Handsome The Jewels Scoop One Piece (as pictured) under a dress, in this case a cute semi sheer dress. Not only does the suit tuck you in at all the right places, the sheer dress allows you to see the amazingness of the WAH print.
What I really wanted to achieve with this look was to show you another way of styling your WAH bodysuit, sure it’s a beautiful swimwear piece but it can be so much more!
Emily.
Bathing is one of my favourite hobbies, so when I heard that Budapest was the spa capital of Europe, I was excited. The Contiki tour I was on had scheduled the two best thermal baths in Budapest into our itinerary – the fancy Gellért Baths and the no-fuss Széchenyi Baths. Both bathhouses come with your usual spa treatments and thermal pools, but that’s where the similarities end.
The Gellért Baths
On the Buda side of town is the famous Hotel Gellért, a beautiful art nouveau style building and home to some of Budapest’s most famous baths. Built in 1918, the complex is made up of thermal baths, swimming pools, saunas, plunge pools and even an artificial wave pool.
Unfortunately on the way to the baths we got distracted by the hotel’s amazing restaurant and spent our forints on champagne and deliciousness, not realising that we needed a fairly hefty cash deposit to hire a towel and change room. Next thing I know I’m attempting the impossible by trying to change out of a playsuit and into a bikini discretely without flashing Hungarian society folk.
We hit up the indoor and outdoor pools, but swapped the massages and manicures for chilling in the sun.
