For our Halcyon Days campaign we travelled to the magical island of Curaçao, where the water is crystal clear and the sand is snow white.

Within the majestic landscape of Cambodia, photographer Hannah Roche set out on a fisherman’s boat with two fresh faces to make magic. Nearly capsizing a few times, interacting with the locals and taking in the beautiful surrounds, Hannah and her handsome babes (who had never modelled before..can you believe it!?) represented what it is to be a WAH girl; fit, fun, travel inspired and embracing of culture.

And the runways just keep coming at Spring Fashion Week this year. Street Wear is always a favourite with local Melbourne designers showing off their wares to the backdrop of Melbourne’s infamous lane ways. As is Melbourne’s style, the display of Spring collections were eclectic and innovative. Kuwaii, Limedrop, Bùl and Gorman were among the many beloved local talents showing their latest designs.
Virginia Martin opened the runway with label Búl, using earthy tones and clean lines throughout the collection. The use of layering brought a level of femininity to what would otherwise be quite an androgynous aesthetic. Use of delicate linens and crisp button ups, brought an attainable sense of luxe to the range.
Minimalist, elegant and chic was everything Kuwaii this year. Kristy Barber has certainly outdone herself (if that is even possible) with the latest collection clean lined, structured and effortless. The designs combine architectural influences with light tailoring, always maintaining their versatility in function and form. Simple shapes and compositions make this collection graceful and modern.
Limedrop is as always fun, playful and innovative. With geometric printed silks, a mixture of pastels and bold hues, cut out flowing dresses, a touch of leather and sport luxe cropped jackets, the collection has something for everyone. What I love about this label is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Fun and laughter is always the aim of the game and adding a pair of Limedrops rainbow reflective fun glasses to the mix will certainly do that and more.
Gorman mixed it up this year whilst staying true to their bohemian tailored aesthetic. The collection offered a contemporary take on traditional tribal prints featuring playsuits, oversized bomber jackets, asymmetric hemlines and cropped leather jackets.

Minimalism was the aim of the game at last nights Melbourne Spring Fashion Week designer runway. Narrated by a story of Melbourne aesthetic, spring style and electro pop/psychedelic tunes, designs by the likes of Yeojin Bae, Alice McCall, LifeWithBird and our very own old roomies Kahlo were effortlessly chic and contemporary.
Alice McCall changed it up this season using more structured elements within her designs. Still paying homage to the traditional aesthetic we have all come to love, the use of architectural inspired tailoring saw McCall tread the line of playfulness and simplicity perfectly.
Yeojin Bae. What can I say? Brilliance. Every single year this gorgeous, creative human amazes me. With geometric silhouettes, cut out waistlines and asymmetric structures, Yeojin Bae is innovative and visually articulate. She is true to her creative vision and creates designs that reflect the contemporary female aesthetic.
LifeWithBird reinforced that pink, whether pastel or fuchsia, is here to stay this season. With laser cuts, sheer panelling and horizontal structures becoming a focus within the collection, the designs were distinct and conceptual. Designers Bridget McCall and Nicholas Van Messner have again created a simple, modern and inventive vision of style and design.
With our good friends over at Kahlo showing their latest collection at MSFW, we were incredibly excited to see what they had in store. Laid back, nonchalant, sport luxe and chic is everything Kahlo this season. Elegant yet understated, just the right amount of metallic paired with a monochrome palette and all of the layering perfection you could hope for. High neck lines, crops and simple structures gave the collection a sense of boyish charm and versatility. On point Kahlo, on point!
With minimalism trending now more than ever, these talented designers have created beautiful designs that ultimately reflect todays modern woman who seeks comfort, versatility and elegance. I’d say that all of those boxes were ticked.

Divine Wanderer
An unlikely muse, the 90s teen fashion queen Cher Horowitz aka Alicia Silverstone from cult movie Clueless, has provided inspiration for many collections and looks this season.
Taking us back to the days where we were so like totally loving tartan, plaids, goth, neon backpacks and knee high socks. Where we all wished we had that futuristic wardrobe of Cher; intuitive, tech savvy, revolving…..surely they’ve invented this no? A girl can dream. Whilst the 90s was an interesting time for fashion thankfully only a few key looks have been brought back this season, with a modern twist of course.
Coordinating Tartan: If you were wearing a tartan coordinating suit in the 90s complete with the knee high socks you were certainly rocking the preppy look. This season fusing checks with tartan in asymmetric skirts and structured tees pays homage to Cher and Dionne’s twin suit looks. Add a single strap heel or a slide and you are on point.
Backpacks: They may not be neon but a good leather backpack is certainly trending. Now I am not talking one you can fit all your books, laptops and everything but the kitchen sink in…think more petite, simple, elegant. A perfect way to finish an outfit.
Sport luxe: This is my favourite look of the season. The sport luxe look has been obsessed with my DIY cut off Adidas and Nike tees. Pairing this with a full bodied skirt or pair of distressed denims allows you to achieve the chic yet nonchalant street look ever so coveted this season.
Dye dip hair: No longer is coloured hair defined as grunge, alternative or out there. This season I am loving pastel dye dipped locks. If you are already rocking ombré than you are half way there. Step it up with a pastel pink or lilac. Test your limits. Be creative.
Growing up in the 90s was fun. Even at a young age I got to test the boundaries with my style choices. Like many eras the 90s may have committed many fashion faux pas, I am certainly glad that only the good styles have remerged this season.

Bircher, black tea and The Sartorialist is an unbeatable morning combination. A nourishing Bircher bowl can be achieved by simply mixing rolled oats with nuts, seeds and coconut flakes. Soak in your preferred milk or coconut water and yoghurt overnight. Bircher muesli can be made and stored in the fridge for several days, so why not make a big batch to get you through the week? You can also play pick ‘n’ mix with the ingredients for more variety. Goji berries, dates, dried apricots, grated apple, blueberries, chia seeds and roasted almonds are great mix-in ideas.
Sugar hit anyone? French toast is an indulgent breakfast that truly nourishes the soul. This European classic can be done in a healthy way, we promise! Try sourdough bread soaked in a mix of eggs, milk and cinnamon, lightly fried in coconut oil. To serve we recommend a drizzle of raw honey, topped with fresh fruit of your choice. Banana and blueberries is always a winning combo.
Lets be honest…any combination of fine food and fashion will get us every time. Who would want to eat a plain peice of toast watching the news (boring!) when you could be enjoying decadent bircher muesli, a chai latte and the latest digest of Garance Dore? That is certainly our kind of morning.
TIALS FW13 : TIGER BLOOD from THIS IS A LOVE SONG
I first stumbled upon this label when I walked into their concept store in Seminyak, Bali. Initially the aesthetics of the store itself captured my attention with its rustic yet modern, edgy interior. Casting my eyes to each item of clothing further solidified my intital impression of the label. Fuelled by the necessity of music, love and good times, the labels designs reflect the value of creativity, individuality and eccentricity. Tiring of the superflous overflow of unoriginal designs, TIALS is a breath of fresh air and echoes the need for fashion to reflect individuality not conformity.
With model/actress/all encompassing creative being Fa Empel aka FA’velapunk, as the current face of the label, the latest video featuring the FW13 collection Tiger Blood is very cool. The collection is street yet modern with its androgynous undertones. It speaks of creativity and originality, not confining itself to the masculine or the feminine. Featuring monochrome looks, cut out crops, structured designs and staple tees, the collection is playful, fun and daring all the same. It is rare for a collection to have so many different elements and succeed in being original. This Is A Love Song certainly does.
TIALS will continue to develop a strong almost cult like following of individuals who crave inspiration and vision.

I tend to be quite diverse in my personal style. I never really like to pigeon hole myself and love to mix match high end designers with basic staples. As I am a teacher, there are times when I have to wear corporate attire, so a leather pencil skirt, blazer and heels are perfect. At other times in more casual circumstances, I will wear denims, a bomber jacket, or a perfect knit to keep me warm.
I love when I stumble upon a label that I am instantly captivated by. A bit of indie love, street style and elegance all bundled together always warms the heart. I may be a bit behind the 8 ball, but I have just discovered label Surface to Air. Falling instantly in love with their two tone Horizontal Denim skinnies, I proceeded to check them out on their website.
Whether it is Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring a good pair of boots in your wardrobe is always a solid investment. Many people are under the impression that you really only wear boots in winter, I say otherwise. With a cute play dress or a pair of cut off denims, a boot will always give you that edge to an outfit. If you want to dress up a casual pair of boyfriend jeans or spray on skinnies, or add a playful element to an A-line or swing skirt, a classic boot is always a safe bet.
You want to get at the very least 2 years out of a pair of boots, which means that your decision must consider quality and style. My go to favourites have currently lasted me two years and have plenty more to go. Obviously anything leather or suede is always a good choice. Don’t get me wrong, I have been known to purchase a cheap pair of boots made out of synthetic materials, but these are simply my muck around trash boots, that will only last me the season I buy them in. Three styles in particular have stood out to me this season. Between Senso and Acne, I am in love.
It is that time of year again, where we all look to the infamous Coachella Music Festival to plan our very own festival look for the coming summer. Great tunes, good company, tent chilling and summer vibes are what Coachella is known for the most, but more recently its style has become iconic. When festival season comes around, it seems we all have a bit of indie rock love in us.
