For this series, George Shows us movie icons from two different areas.
“This project has been a lot about ideals, patterns and anatomy, said Chamoun. The project name, Iconatomy, originated from the words “icon and “anatomy.
We can only imagine the image sourcing that went into this project. George, consider it ppreciated.
While in Sydney the other day (only a short stint), we went to The Rocks to look at the MCA. But not being a Sydneysider, I wasn’t aware that the MCA was undergoing a facelift!! I was quite sad at first, as I really wanted to see some exhibitions whilst in town! Then I realised (after reading some signs) they had exhibitions throughout The Rocks – which seemed even more fun than our initial idea, as it was sort of like a treasure hunt – going in and out of streets trying to find the pieces we wanted to see…
One of the main artists I wanted to see was Tom O’Hern. His work is AMAZING. These low res images really don’t do them justice.
A long favourite wildlife photographer Nick Brandt is spearheading a charitable charge, releasing a selection of prints for purchase through Big Life Africa. These works, one of them of the big bull in Amboseli pictured above are not only beautifully arresting but all proceeds go toward the conversation of these majestic African creatures.
For your coffee table, add his most recent book, On This Earth, A Shadow Falls which combines the best photographs from Nick’s previous books. Featuring 36 images from On This Earth and 54 from A Shadow Falls and is the only publication where images from both books will appear in one volume, on a larger scale than the previous editions. Signed copies of are available through Photo-eye Gallery,
Nick is currently exhibiting 60+ prints until Jan 8, 2012 at the Fotografiska Museum, Stockholm, Sweden. If you happen to find yourself in the city in October, he’s scheduled to talk on Saturday the 8th of October at 3PM.

What do you get when you cross Jurassic Park with drinks at a bar? Unfortunately not a drunk dinosaur – as cool as that would be. What do you get when you fill a museum with live music, retro games, karaoke, alcohol and food? A fantastical Tuesday night out is what. This is Jurassic Lounge, the after-hours event breathing life into The Australian Museum after dark. So leave your Faber-Castell’s by the monkey bars – there’s too much to see and do. Sip on a cider while reading about a dinosaur affectionately known as Eric to Museum staff. Marvel at a shoulder blade fossil, transformed into opal after millions of years. Or bust a move at the silent disco and flex your wild dating skills to find love. You might even meet a guy who makes robots for a living and has been to every single Jurassic Lounge night this winter. Whatever (or whom ever) you end up discovering, Jurassic Lounge sure beats the ‘Tight Tuesday’ queue at the cinema.
If you haven’t already checked it out tomorrow night is your last chance to get some J-Lounge action this year – snap to it and pre-purchase your tickets here before 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

You’ll remember we blogged about Florence when she wore our Mini-dress for Nylon Mag’s Cover Shoot a few months ago:

We’re so happy to announce that the custom suit of Bob Marley we made for Rihanna earlier this year is still getting worn often by our fave pop singer, and now shows up a whole bunch of times in her latest music video ‘Cheers (Drink to That)’.
