While in Sydney the other day (only a short stint), we went to The Rocks to look at the MCA. But not being a Sydneysider, I wasn’t aware that the MCA was undergoing a facelift!! I was quite sad at first, as I really wanted to see some exhibitions whilst in town! Then I realised (after reading some signs) they had exhibitions throughout The Rocks – which seemed even more fun than our initial idea, as it was sort of like a treasure hunt – going in and out of streets trying to find the pieces we wanted to see…
One of the main artists I wanted to see was Tom O’Hern. His work is AMAZING. These low res images really don’t do them justice.
Tom works with Indian ink on paper, and the intricate details of each brush stroke is beautiful. There were about 8 of his pieces displayed in a horizontal line on a white brick wall – and I wanted them all! I wanted to display them in my house exactly the same. If you’re in town go and check out the Primavera exhibition – it runs until the 13th of November
Tom, if you ever read this, I love your work – and it would look amazing in my house.
