Karlie Kloss just being her usual cute self around New York! Guy Aroch has the ability to romantically bathe everything he shoots in soft, warm, sunshine – the perfect choice for a Free People catalogue. Craving a pretzel (and a scoop back breton striped top) so badly right now.

iHeart this: Heart Part Utensil Set
These super cute heart-shaped utensils might be the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. Cleverly designed by Fatima Fazal, Heart Part cutlery sets are part fork, part knife and part spoon. They come in five awesome colours (fluoro orange!) and each packet – an absolute steal at only $10 a pop – gives you 10 complete hearts that become 20 when split and given to a loved one. And they’re also environmentally friendly; made from 66% less plastic than regular cutlery and 100% biodegradable. All that’s left to do is simply break a Heart Part and get to sharing food with your special valentine.
I heart ice cream at the beach, puppy dogs and Heart Part utensils. What do you heart?
Frank Sinatra: Timelessly Cool
Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Michael Feinstein and the Sinatra Big Band at the Sydney Opera House. He performed songs like ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ and ‘The Way You Look Tonight’, the audience gently swaying as he crooned the popular tunes of yesteryear. While we Handsomers are all about what’s hot and trending right now, I thought today we could – just as Feinstein did last night – pay homage to the music of a bygone era and the legend that is Frank Sinatra. And besides, we always did have a soft spot for anything timelessly and impossibly cool and of course, “that city that never sleeps. Enjoy, sing along, and Happy Fourth of July to all the Star Spangled Banner folk out there.

Mondrian Soho: New York Hotel Lust
There’s a very exciting buzz in the air… We’re packing our swimsuits and touring the US in July! In true We Are Handsome style, we’ve been on the hunt for the most handsome waterholes to drink at; the most handsome hotspots to eat at; and the most handsome digs to sleep at. Luckily for us, there’s a stellar new addition to New York’s glamorous hotel scene; welcome, the Mondrian Soho. Continue reading
A Dream House
I am moving to a new apartment in a couple of weeks and all I want to do is redecorate it as soon a we move in. It’s basically the only fun thing about moving. Everything else which comes with moving is a hassle.
I have found myself looking at interior design blogs for countless hours the past few days – they’re so bloody addictive. I have found about ten different ways I’d like to decorate the new abode, but obviously I have to narrow it down to at least one. Realistically I should be organising the important things like a removalist, a carpet cleaner etc before I decide on the decor of the new place, but there’s absolutely no fun in those things.
New York Moments
Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg make cool.
Art Watching
According to my senses (and reconfirmed by Google) Chrissy Angliker is a hot young artist on the rise. Her signature technique which allows gravity to play it’s role on paint is seen throughout all her works yet never seem to get old. See Continue reading
Beautiful Losers
What do you think the world would look like we were all encouraged to create + design.. would it be complete with new inventions + perspectives? Would nothing be questioned and really it would mean that everything is ok…?
This documentary film, Beautiful Losers, by Aaron Rose, focuses on the careers of a collective group of artists who worked in the ‘Alleged Gallery‘ New York. Throughout the 1990s they began a movement in the American art world using do it yourself aesthetics from street art + grafitti, skateboarding + underground music, pop culture + graphic design. These self-described former nerds, freaks and outsiders, created pieces of art individually but with a collective spirit. These young creatives were born to make + design.

A Beautiful Interior
Ryan Korban. At 25 years of age this guy is arguably one of New Yorks youngest, most influential and authentic interior stylists of today (plus an A grade babe if you ask me).

[chromeless id=iqYig5_9bQY width=540 height=360 autoplay=no ytcontrols=no]
This video somehow mashes so very many time periods and pop/cultural references that you can’t even put your finger on them – and becomes timelessly cool in itself. Bonus points for making me laugh too +++
For all the deets on who was behind it and what those terrible looking gentlemen (coughcough) were wearing head on over to Stylecaster.
