Pale and Metallic Vibes

wah

With the winter blues setting in well and truly in Australia, I thought I would bring a little pick me up to inspire all you handsome wanderers. Currently I am gladly seeing a lot of pale looks and metallic hues that provide a sweet alternative to the saturation of layered black winter looks. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing like all classic black. A bit of leather, a bit of fur, a structured overcoat etc, but when you look like you are going to a funeral, and yes that funeral is for summer, it is probably time to brighten up your wardrobe. Obviously bright colours are spring orientated (not that bright colours are bad either) so pale looks every now and again, of white, grey and metallics won’t be huge shift in your winter wardrobe.

Here are my picks:

Zara and Topshop. You can never really go wrong with these guys. They are affordable and produce some much needed staple items. Zara’s pale blue Oversize shirt, has a more relaxed vibe about it. It’s soft and flowing and when paired with these Topshop MOTO White Joni Jeans are sheer pale perfection.

Gucci’s monogram grey Scarf and My Mum Made Its White Beanie both offer winter warmth for your extremities. Keeping your head and neck warm in winter, even on those spring like days can make all the difference. Besides who doesn’t love a cute beanie in winter.

As I mentioned a bit of metallic goes a long way in giving your winter look something to set you apart from the others. A brogue is classic. A metallic brogue is even better. This Esquivel Metallic-leather lace-up brogue are perfectly matched with a pale jean, skirt or short. They are fantastic quality and as with boots become an investment in your wardrobe. The best part about a brogue is that it is versatile. It can be worn all season and on almost all occasions.

Accessories: I have said this before and I will say it again. Accessories can make or break an outfit. From jewellery to wallets, accessories should act as the final touch on what already is a beautiful canvas. Keeping in line with my metallic obsession, the Steve Madden BSkool Backpack and McQueen Skeleton Embossed passport size wallet, are stunning. Giving off the street hipster vibe with the back pack and juxtaposing this with the Mcqueen clutch, is bold, chic yet almost effortless at the same time.

Final touches with jewellery include: An oversize Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch and McQueen silver skull ring.

What metallics will you be buying this season?
