Style Seekers / Revolutionary Minds

We had the privilege and opportunity to be a part of a fantastic photographic exhibition and special issue of Urban Walkabout magazine last week. Along with Style leaders Dion Lee, Gary Bigeni and 13 others we were featured both in the magazine (on the cover – pictured above) as well as in the exhibition that took place at Gaffa gallery here in Sydney.
I also had the fortune to be featured on the invitation as well as promotional posters and flyers.

The exhibition was a huge success and the magazine is available in coffe, record shops and boutiques around Sydney for the next month.

The Streets – Behind The Scenes

We often get questions about our shoots – the where & how, the who and what.
Each shoot for us is entirely different – but all with the same outcome – a We Are Handsome campaign.
Our team works really hard both in preparation s=for our shoots and on shoot day to get everything perfect – and we don’t compromise on quality.
Shoot days are always fun, but are long – up to 12 hours – and very hard work.

For the Streets campaign we headed over to one of our fave spots in Maroubra (in Sydney) and spent the day amongst the ocean pool, rocks and waves. Each shot that resulted was meticulously set up by the team (we have about 9-12 people on set) and photographed by our photographer and friend Trevor King dozens and sometimes hundreds of times to get the look we’re after.

We love each of our shoots and are always in the planning stages of 2-3 more for future collections.

Rihanna, Our Biggest Fan

Our friend (and biggest fan) Rihanna was spotted yesterday in Barbados in ANOTHER We Are Handsome one piece – The Secret Garden Zipsuit.

As I’m sure you know, RiRi has been spotted more than once in our stuff, and we even made her a custom Bob Marley piece earlier this year which she wore in her hometown as well as in her music video for ‘Cheers’ (Let’s Drink to That).

Just yesterday Rihanna was home again in Barbados, this time shooting with Oprah for a special 1 hour long interview with the pop princess on her childhood, music, fame and growing up like no one else.

We’re super excited to see her in one of our favourite prints from the Romantic collection – The Secret Garden which, if you look closely has hidden images of puppies all through it. A little known fact is that many of the puppies are those of ours, our friend’s and families, making the print very personal to us and one of our all time faves.

Of course, The Secret Garden Zipsuit Rihanna wears is almost sold out – but we have a few left in our e-boutique if you’re quick!!

Fashion Week Wrap Up #4

Nothing says summer like a pop of colour on the lips, so for our debut show we decided to step things up a notch.  We enlisted MAC makeup guru Nicole Thompson, who created one of the most talked about makeup trends from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) by painting two-toned lips on models in bright pink and orange. Thompson relied on a layering technique to create the intense palette, using water-resistant products to set the colour, along with pre-mixed cream lipsticks and powder pigments.

Brows were right on trend with arches lifted to give them a feminine, almost cat-like feel. With the focus on the lips, eyes were softly shaded and cheeks were given a natural glow.  Thompson created sun-kissed skin using a double coat of St Tropez Mousse (which we also included in the goodie bag) that was then topped off with the brand’s Bronzing Rocks shimmer powder.

We’d like to thank MAC and the amazingly talented Nicole Thompson and her team for helping bring our vision to life. We can’t wait to see two-toned lips on the street this summer.

Fashion Week Wrap Up #3

You know how bad your hair feels after you’ve had it done for an event? Well times that by a hundred and you’ll get some idea of the condition of a model’s hair during fashion week. With back-to-back shows, they’re having their hair washed, dried and styled over and over again. That’s why we were thrilled to have TRESemme on board for our show. Between TRESemme and our hair style director Keiren Street, our girls hair not only looked stunning, it felt amazing too (if you were lucky enough to get that close!)

The style we chose for our models relied heavily on their locks being in top condition. Thanks to an incredible array of TRESemme products on hand, we were able to create a soft and romantic style to compliment the collection.  Models strutted down the runway with hair slicked into a side part using red bobby pins, with long cascading beach waves down one shoulder.

A big thanks to the hair care gurus over at TRESemme for keeping our models locks looking luscious.

Fashion Week Wrap Up #2

One of the best things about putting a show on is being able to collaborate with a whole bunch of amazing designers and creative visionaries. So over the next week, we’ll be revealing the talented people who helped make our Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) debut possible.

With a colourful collection that included animalistic, landscape and floral inspired prints, we needed jewellery that could hold its own.  So to compliment our pieces, we turned to jewellery designers MEZI. The Sydney-based label is designed by sister duo Tal Manning and Adva Punin who draw on their exotic Moroccan-Egyptian heritage to create eye-catching adornment. Using a pop of yellow and stacked shapes, the girls custom-designed a pair of tropical drop-style earrings that we couldn’t wait to see paired with our suits.

The earrings created the perfect finish to the styling of our models and we can’t thank MEZI enough for being a part of the show.

Delivery in United States

• Delivery is via FedEx Smart Post (with tracking) and generally takes 2-7 business days – it costs $5 USD.
•Express Delivery is via UPS Ground and takes 3 days – it costs $14 USD.
•Lost or stolen postage is not covered by insurance.

All international shipping is processed via Priority International Shipping.

Shipment is between 3-21 days depending on your location.

Returns and Orders Policy

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY GARMENT?

Although our garments may make you feel invincible, the swimsuit itself is rather delicate.

Make sure you follow these easy steps to make sure your piece of We Are Handsome stays with you forever!

  • Use a mild detergent while hand washing it separately in cold water.
  • Pretty please don’t tumble dry, wring, soak or bleach your garment (that’s just cruel), it’s best to let it dry in the shade.
  • Try not to leave it rolled up and wet, make sure you rinse it really well after each use, especially if you’re spending a lot of time frolicking in an infinity pool – or a non-infinity pool for that matter!
  • Please don’t iron or dry-clean it.
  • Also, try to stay away from rough surfaces as it could cause pilling, and we all know that is not a good look.

RETURNS and ORDERS POLICY

  • You must notify WE ARE HANDSOME within 7 calendar days of accepting delivery of the order AND arrange return of the item/s within 7 calendar days after receiving our email authorizing the return.

 

  • To notify WE ARE HANDSOME, email your proof of purchase, being an invoice or email confirmation from WE ARE HANDSOME, to our customer service team at customerlove@wearehandsome.com .

 

  • All sale purchases are final and cannot be returned (including exchanges, credit notes and refunds). We kindly ask that you carefully consider your items before purchasing. Sale returns will only be accepted if the merchandise is faulty or wrongly described.

 

  • During sale periods where a discount code is used, any orders placed prior to the start time of the sale will not be eligible for the discount. THIS INCLUDES CURRENT SALE: 10TH Birthday Sale

 

  • Item/s must be unworn, unwashed and in the original sellable condition. All labels, packaging and hygiene stickers must be attached and in their original condition.

 

  • Customers are responsible for organising the shipment of returns including the cost to send the return back to us. WE ARE HANDSOME is not responsible for the shipment of returns and will not replace or process a return that is lost during shipment. We recommend shipping returns through a tracked service.

 

  • It is not the responsibility of WE ARE HANDSOME to pay or reimburse customers for any government import fees, taxes and/or charges that may be applied to orders. It is the responsibility of customers to be aware of and pay any such costs that their country may apply to imported goods.

 

  • Refunds are made to the credit card that was used to make the original purchase and are for the cost of items only. Shipping costs will not be refunded. Please allow 7 business days for the refund transaction to be completed back onto your card. We will contact you via the email address listed on your order when the refund has taken place.

 

  • For exchanges, we will require a shipping payment to be made prior to re-shipment. We will request this payment from you via PayPal. The charges are as follows:
    • USA Domestic $10
    • International Express $15 (International costs will be in the relevant currency)

 

  • Due to the select nature of our product, we cannot guarantee the availability of merchandise for exchanges

 

  • Once your return order has been received your order will be processed within 7 business days. During holiday periods/sale seasons it may take longer.

 

  • We do not accept returns from purchases made through our stockists. We can only process returns on purchases that were processed through our e-boutique.

 

  • Stock quantities are not updated in real time, and therefore occasionally an item may be sold out at time of purchase. If you purchase an item that is sold out, you will be notified by email as soon as possible and offered a suitable replacement or full refund.

 

  • Delivery delays may occur during high volume and peak periods or due to unforeseen reasons. During these times, please allow an additional 7 business days for your order to be delivered. Russian/ South African customers may need more patience by reason of the local delivery system and customs­­.
