I am getting excited. It is only 4 weeks until this body of mine will feel the warmth and sun of Bali. As with any tropical summer holiday, I always take staple essentials. As a regular traveller, I feel as though I have perfected the essentials list. From sunscreen to the perfect pair of shorts, I like to think I have this packing thing down pat. Here is my list of MUST HAVES when travelling to a tropical destination:
COVER UP BUTTTERCUP
Obviously I will be rocking my favourite WAH swimwear on the trip! I can just picture myself relaxing by the pool soaking up the sun in my “Anniversary Print” one piece, Stallion Corset Bikini and my old favourite The Spirit Corset Bikini. Absolute perfection.
A good pair of denim shorts never go astray in a tropical climate, especially when they have versatility in their wear. My slouchy bad boy One Teaspoon Bandits, are perfect in every way. The relaxed slouchy fit along with the darker hues, means they can transition seamlessly into the night.
A playful crop is always a must! I love the Cream of The Crop crop from Indonesian label This Is A Love Song. It is cute, flirty and can be worn with most skirts and shorts. Pair it with killer leather slouch shorts for an edgy night look.
SunScreen. Yes sunscreen. The old “slip slop slap”. I like to think I have learnt to be sun smart over the years, however the tanning competitions between my father and I are probably not an indicator of this. In saying this, I always start off using a good 30+ sunscreen and then slowly work my way up to an SPF coconut oil.
Aloe Vera. Natures gift for your sunburnt skin. I do not go anywhere tropical without it. My favourite is Sukin Organics Aloe gel.
The sun, oil and sunscreen can often be drying on your skin. A good moisturiser will combat this and help to infuse the humidity with your skin. There is nothing like a soft, summer glowing bod! I will definitely be taking my Indah Organics Raw Asset Hand & Body Balm. Delicious.
Finally a good lip balm never goes astray. Chapped lips? Gross! My go to lip balm is Sukin Organics nourishing lip treatment. It even tastes delicious and smells divine.
So that’s it really. My basic staples for a tropical getaway. I will be thinking of you Sweet Wanderers, as I laze by the pool, sipping cocktails in the warmth. Ahh the life. But alas, a good holiday is well deserved.
