To me jewellery acts as the final touch on what is already a beautiful canvas. Jewellery can make or break an outfit, it can add a uniqueness, edge and elegance. So choosing jewellery to purchase should always be a careful decision. Of course you can buy costume type jewellery until the cows come home, but those key solid classic items that you will never want to give up, should be considered carefully.
Some people like gold. Some people like silver. Some rose gold, some white gold. Some don’t really have a preference and go with whatever. I guess it all depends on your style and or complexion. I have noticed people with a more tanned complexion can really pull off any look, whereas fairer complexions stick with just one precious metal. For me, I am a silver girl who occasionally dips her fingers into white and rose gold. I don’t like over the top and I have rules. If I am wearing a necklace, I won’t wear earrings and a bracelet. If I am wearing earrings and a bracelet I won’t wear a necklace. Jewellery should be fine and minimal, but nothing beats a big look at me chunky watch. I only wear a maximum of two rings at any given time, as I have pretty petite hands, even still two is enough. So many rules, one might be considered slightly left of centre, but all with good intentions.
Baby Anything is relatively new on the scene with Lucie Fergusons creative talents in full force. The label is simple, romantic, edgy and elegant. Using precious metals the designs are petite and fine. I can also tell you quite honestly, that the jewellery does not tarnish. I have seen this first hand as my girlfriend constantly wears her Destiny Sterling Silver Ring. Since following the label on Instagram, I have been lusting over the Echo Rope Ring and Keepsake Fine skull ring. Both are humble, modest and chic.
For simplicity with a difference Tagea has a gorgeous range of unique designs. The label takes its inspiration from ancient stories of luscious women, who wear jewels and stones to express their spirituality and femininity. Each design is an extension and celebration of the beauty of the human body. The Melbourne based label, handcraft their designs using organic raw materials, precious stones and pure silver in wax molds and sketches. The White Collection, my favourite, with its geometric aesthetics and playful beauty, is built for longevity. The Taega Diamond Ring and Avery Bangle are both stunning and two items that would stand the test of time in both style and quality.
Remember choose quality and a style that will last. Jewellery says a lot about the person who is wearing it. So let it be an organic expression of who you are.
