The second designer runway saw many well known Australian designers show off their ready-to-wear spring summer collections. Amongst the designers were accomplished labels Alice McCall, Manning Cartell, LIFEwithBIRD, Tettmann Doust and YB J’Aime by Yeojin Bae.
Stunning contemporary dancers provided visionary entertainment between each collection. Paired with futuristic, geometric lighting designs and pumping tunes, the festival continued to dazzle its audience and set the standard for future Australian fashion weeks.
Again a reoccurring theme of monochrome and strong architectural designs were featured throughout the collections. However the spring colour vibe did not go unnoticed with playful pastels and earthy tones, paired with delicate and intricate embroidery for boho chic.
Alice McCall was a standout, continuing the labels well known playful hippie meets elegant chic vibe. The collection employed an ornamental take on structured bustiers, play suits and swing dresses. Tettmann Doust fused leather, cut out layering, stunning beading and galactic like prints ever so seamlessly to produce elegant yet edgy designs. Earthy tones, tiger prints, beautiful silks, cut out crops, high waists and cobalt blues all featured in the YB J’Aime collection this season, with the sophisticated designs certainly a standout.
