The Perfect Coffee
About 4 months ago on one of my regular trips to Bali, I walked into one of my favourite concept stores in Bali This is a Love Song and found a little gem hiding behind it. Walking into Seminyak cafe Revolver, felt more like I was in Melbourne than in Bali. With its edgy vintage like interior the cafe instantly had my attention. Taking one sip of the coffee there and I definitely fell in love.
Australian owner Katie Allan has definitely started a coffee culture in Bali and has set the bar very high. In my opinion Revolver has the best coffee in Seminyak if not the whole of Bali. I am yet to find a coffee as good anywhere else on the island and when you come from Melbourne like me, coffee is essential to getting through the day. (not that a day in Bali is hard to get through) My pick? The soy latte. Absolute perfection.
Glamour Darling, Glamour!
Old Hollywood.
Marlon Brando, Jimmy Dean, Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn all iconic names that encompass all that is Old Hollywood. The glitz the glamour, the scandal, the opulence, a time of ground breaking film, music and television. Where Los Angeles was un officially ruled by Gangsters and Mafia alike, personalities such as Mickey Cohen still leave a memorable legacy of violence, booze, jazz and lavish partying. One thing that is certain, is that this era is certainly fascinating.
Imagine if you got to be a part of this historical magnificence. Experience the extravagance that is Vintage Hollywood with a modern twist? Well, we have found the perfect place to do so. We are in with love the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills. There is just something about the rich history, juxtaposed with its modern elements that have us ever so intrigued.
Originally, the hotel was not so coveted or the place to be, but in recent years its retro-chic revival from the brilliant architect Koning Eizenberg, has provided the hotel on a fresh new look and the ability to impress every single guest that experiences its charm.
Sweet Dreams.
Are made of these.

Underwater Magic
Alexander Safonov is not quite your regular software architect from Voronezh, Russia.
Fascinated by the wet world that covers most of our planet, he trained and got his diving license in 2002 and started to experiment with underwater photography.
Since then, he’s made several trips to photograph the spectacular underwater wildlife off Cocos Island, Fiji, the Galapagos and Raja Ampat.
He has become especially taken with the annual sardine run off the coast of South Africa where most of the photos here were captured over the last few years. You can see many more photographs on his Flickr and 500px pages

Villa Hoenegg is a 5 star hotel near Lucerne, Switzerland.
Built in 1905, it was refurbished and reopened for business in May 2011 to a rousing reception and is best experienced to believe it’s beauty and grace – and of course, that view!
Whoa! Wait, What??
Aogashima is a small, tropical volcanic island in the Philippine Sea, under the administration of Tokyo despite being located some 358 kilometers away from the country’s capital. It is the southernmost and the most isolated inhabited island of the Izu archipelago. The island itself is a giant volcanic crater, and within that crater there’s another, smaller volcano. Aogashima is still considered an active Class-C volcano though it last erupted in the 1780′s. When last erupted it killed nearly half of the island’s population and forced the remaining inhabitants to flee. It took just fifty years for the people to return. Today, some 200 brave villagers live on the island.

The Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, CA. It’s one of those places that images of it’s pristine grounds and retro-futuristic architecture & decor turn up all over the internet and no one really knows anything about. Built in the 1930’s, the original hotel has been kept in fantastic condition and is immaculate in its finishings and grounds.
The Hotel features a full day spa with all the trimmings, it’s beautiful three courtyards with pools and manicured gardens are a sight to see – or so i believe from the images… alas, I have not set eyes on the Viceroy – yet. As always, you can learn a lot more about the Hotel and it’s history/magnificence at their website.
