Pursenboots is my new absolute favourite personal style blog. Â Why do I love Ashley Glorioso’s blog so much? Simple – she is always perfectly accessorised and just naked enough. Â Ashley has definitely mastered the art of ‘understated amazing’ and her eclectic,outside-the-box style, eye for detail and extensive accessories closet (yes I’m sure she’d need a closet) make for perfect blog browsing.. check it out here Continue reading

It's 11:11 O'Clock in Byron Bay
![1111](https://wearehandsome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/IMG_4771-540x360.jpg)
My mum was born on the 11th of November at around 11am, so I’ve grown up with the 11:11 phenomenon. Basically, she’s one of those people who always happens to check the time when it’s 11:11 o’clock. Some people explain it as a coincidence; others believe it to be an auspicious sign or the signal of a spiritual presence. As a child, I never really questioned these continual occurrences; I though that 11:11 was just her thing. Well it turns out it’s also thousands of other peoples thing, and one of them owns an amazing boutique in Byron Bay called 11:11 O’Clock.
Paraty Beach House

While researching my end of year trip to South America, I stumbled across a cute little historical town in Brazil called Paraty. Apparently it’s known for its 19th century colonial architecture, but I can’t tell you a thing about that. I’m too busy imagining what my life would be like if I called this palatial beach house my casa. Maybe I’d be a Brazilian swimwear designer and use the beachfront pool to host collection launches. Or perhaps I’d dabble in some sort of illicit trade, making the boat-only access more of a necessity than a luxury.
PHOTO OF THE DAY: RAINBOW CONNECTION
![voguedec](https://wearehandsome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/voguedec.jpg)
Beautiful sunny summer weather calls for beautiful sunny summery photo shoots and Rainbow Connection, in the current December issue of Australian Vogue, is no exception.
The whole spread is bursting with vibrant colour and cool – this is retro summer glam at its best. Casual clashing stripes, the weathered white chair, the peek-a-boo of 70’s floral. Pass this gal a Pimm’s – and don’t skimp on the cucumber!
FINDING EDEN
![Daniel Muhindi 1](https://wearehandsome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Daniel-Muhindi-11-540x360.jpg)
Enchanting, innocent, ethereal…
I love these beautiful photographs taken by London-based photographer Daniel Muhindi. Shot in the gardens of a Swiss cottage mansion in London, the spontaneous decision to gently shake a blossom tree adds a delicate and angelic element to the composition. The images are reminiscent of the Garden of Eden in which Adam and Eve first lived. If this is what the Garden of Eden looked like I’d happily forgo forbidden fruit to stay there. Continue reading
Jess Hart in printed maxi dresses
![JessHart1](https://wearehandsome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/JessHart1-540x360.jpg)
After stumbling across these beautiful images of Jessica Hart on her blog, I don’t know what’s more fabulous: her or the dresses. While we can’t get a good look at the sand-skimming number she’s wearing on the beach, we can be sure that it’s an Aussie label. She’s on location in Hamilton Island for the MYER Spring/Summer 2010/11 catalogue shoot; but her patriotism for Australian fashion doesn’t stop there.
The loose and billowing floral version is from Sydney-based designers Zimmermann, who this season are working some of the nicest florals around. And the good news is that you don’t need to be a supermodel to pull one off, because maxi dresses come in a multitude of flattering styles and prints.
D'Espresso. Yes'o!
![depress0](https://wearehandsome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/depress-540x810.jpg)
I don’t know about you but I love books. I love soft backs, hard backs, used copies, new editions and everything in between. I also love coffee. So when I found this coffee shop, I was nothing short of totally impressed. You are looking at D’Espresso on Madison Avenue (at 42nd) in New York, this tiny coffee shop has been designed to appear as if it has been flipped on its side and the floors and ceilings are lined with a library of books. The books are only images, yes but tell me you wouldn’t want to get your coffee there in the morning? Soy latte, please! xo
Littledoe is Love
![Littledoe1](https://wearehandsome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Littledoe1-540x327.jpg)
Forget digging through piles of over-priced feathers, tulle, lace and whatever other crap can be glued to a clip. If you’re going to splash out on something new for racing season in Australia, it should be something handmade, not mass-produced. Take a peek at the pieces from American label Littledoe and you’ll see what I mean.
Created by inspiring designer Chase Cohl, these feathered headdresses and floral halos have a distinct Little House on the Prairie vibe going on. And they’re definitely not to be restricted to just your race day ensemble. Balmy summer nights, bonfires on the beach and dreamy vintage dresses are all perfect companions for exotic headgear. Whether you’re trackside or seaside, feathers and flowers are bound to make your summer that little more playful.
