This is not a test! Italian architecture studio Stefano Boeri Architetti is responsible for the planning and construction of this amazing ‘vertical forest’ in the centre of Milan. The two residential towers will play host to 900 trees (not to mention shrubs and floral plants) which will equate to 10 000 sqm of forest. So rad.
Visuall did a nice job of summing it up here

SURF CITY – Luke Taaffe x Ryan Heywood
Ever wondered what would happen if you threw a collection of dark photographic seascapes onto some whitewash plywood boards and added a hand painted homage to beach and surf culture over the top? What about a bunch of beaten-up wetsuits sewn together to create a giant logo-covered patchwork doona? Well with photographer Ryan Heywood and artist Luke Taaffe teaming up for an exclusive show, you don’t have to wonder.
Catch their show SURF CITY at the National Grid Gallery in Sydney from the 14th of October through to the 2nd of December.

Florence and The Machine – Shake It Out
Florence and the Machine have JUST (and by ‘just’ we mean about 3 hours ago) released their new single ‘Shake It Out’ from their forthcoming album Ceremonies – due out October 31st. What can we say about the new song – it’s brilliant and classic Florence. We can’t wait for the new album.
You’ll remember we blogged about Florence when she wore our Mini-dress for Nylon Mag’s Cover Shoot a few months ago:

Fashionable Ping Pong
In this masterpiece of film meets luxe Matthew Donaldson shows us Korean table tennis champion, actress and former model Sooyeon Lee in a way never seen before.
“It’s a vehicle to show how extraordinarily elegant she is,” says the Donaldson, who enlisted stylist Katie Shillingford to emphasize Lee’s technique. “The sport requires the body to jolt into action in an aggressive manner that is mesmerizing,” she says. “I wanted the clothes to accentuate these movements.â€
Shillingford commissioned designer Geraldine Chevrolet to create bespoke fringed tights, gloves and a hat, pairing the custom accessories with neon, black and nude jumpsuits, dresses and leggings from Christopher Kane, Mark Fast, Jil Sander and Versace.
Skate and Destroy
If you saw my apartment you would understand why I am posting on this. My boyfriend is a skater and he loves skateboards. All his old boards still hang around our place, because they essentially are pieces of art. The graphics are always super rad and all the damage marks on the board tell a story of all the boardslides, noseslides or tailslides he did while using that board. What’s cool is no two boards are ever the same. When he showed me this Skate and Destroy sculpture exhibit I was amazed at how the old skateboards were transformed. They look like anything but skateboards. I just continued to look at all the different photos because they looked so rad! I just kept thinking “How on earth did they make these”- the layering of these masterpieces must have taken countless hours!! Continue reading
Rihanna & Her Custom Bob Marley Swimsuit
So, we haven’t said much about it, but a little while ago, after her lovely romp in her Amazon Scoop Back, Rihanna came to us and asked if we might design her a custom piece. Her request was that we put her idol, Bob Marley on a suit in true We Are Handsome style.
During her tour and visit to Sydney in March, she invited us to her concert where we presented her with the swimsuit which was received ever so warmly. These pics are the first ever to show the custom suit we designed for her and boy does she do it justice!! Wearing the swimsuit all day and well into the night, she partied in her hometown of Barbados with friends and family, cruising the islands on a yacht and watching the sun go down.
We’re so thrilled she looks so amazing in the swimsuit and couldn’t be happier.
See more pics and read more about her vacation on The Daily Mail and at Just Jared

Vintage Delivery Store, Gili Trawangan
The last thing we expected to stumble across on Gili Trawangan was a boutique vintage clothing store, but tucked away from the main drag are some of the best vintage threads we’ve seen in a while. Vintage Delivery Store is the creation of Swedish couple Natalie and Johnny and their adorable 2 ½ year old son Noah, who sold their two vintage stores back home to relocate to the island of Gili Trawangan in Lombok, Indonesia in search of an alternative lifestyle.
Frank Sinatra: Timelessly Cool
Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Michael Feinstein and the Sinatra Big Band at the Sydney Opera House. He performed songs like ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ and ‘The Way You Look Tonight’, the audience gently swaying as he crooned the popular tunes of yesteryear. While we Handsomers are all about what’s hot and trending right now, I thought today we could – just as Feinstein did last night – pay homage to the music of a bygone era and the legend that is Frank Sinatra. And besides, we always did have a soft spot for anything timelessly and impossibly cool and of course, “that city that never sleeps. Enjoy, sing along, and Happy Fourth of July to all the Star Spangled Banner folk out there.
