Tropical hanging plants by Mister Moss

When you live in a one-bedroom apartment like me, there are only so many plants you can own.  I’ve already got multiple foliage in every room – heck, I’ve even got a giant palm tree decal splayed across an entire wall. With plants on the floor, shelves, benches and balcony, I thought I’d reached my quota. That was until I came across cool hanging plants by Mister Moss.

These handmade moss balls will take your green thumb to a whole new level – not that you’d need to. Your hanging plant only requires a water dunking once a week, making it perfect for low maintenance gardeners. There are a variety of plants to choose from including my baby palm and spider plant, and handy herbs like oregano and parsley. Wrapped and suspended in neon coloured string, these babies are right on trend and just in time for summer.

On a roll in Prague

One of the best ways to explore a city like Prague is by bike. With its cobblestoned streets, spectacular bridges and enchanting castles it’s the perfect way to get a feel for the place.  We did a guided tour with the guys at Praha Bikes and had an awesome American girl Kat as our guide.

Our tour took us across the Charles Bridge where Tom Cruise was filmed in Mission Impossible 4 and past David Cerny’s peeing and crawling baby sculptures. We wrote ‘I wish for world peace’ on the John Lennon Freedom Wall and even had time to scope out some cool riverside bars to go to that evening.

The world’s oldest amusement park

When you think of Austria, you imagine rolling hills, classical concerts, art galleries and schnaps with everything. Riding some crazy snake ride with a g-force that turned my dress into a crop top was the last thing I thought I’d be doing in Vienna. Yet on the night of my very first summer birthday this how I found myself and all I have to say is that it was AWESOME!

Prater Amusement Park in Vienna is the oldest amusement park in the world and also home to the world’s oldest operating Ferris wheel, which was constructed back in 1897. Thankfully I found this out after I’d jumped on every crazy ride I could find and was able to enjoy the old-school vibe of the amusement park. There was no merch on display or over-priced snacks, just good old-fashioned rides and that’s the way it should be.

Politicians in bathing suits

On our way to the Gellért and Széchenyi baths in Budapest, we visited the Hungarian House of Photography to see an exhibition shot by one of their lifeguards more than 80 years ago.

During the 1930’s in Hungary, a lifeguard wasn’t the bored person dressed in white at the side of the pool – a lifeguard was a personality. They were responsible for the comfort of the guests and considered the most important person in a bath. Between 1930 and 1939, Hungarian lifeguard Sándor Pusztai didn’t just welcome his guests and keep them safe – he photographed them. In the interwar years he captured an influential segment of aristocrats, politicians and artists through a series of voyeuristic-style photographs.

Bathing in Budapest

Bathing is one of my favourite hobbies, so when I heard that Budapest was the spa capital of Europe, I was excited. The Contiki tour I was on had scheduled the two best thermal baths in Budapest into our itinerary – the fancy Gellért Baths and the no-fuss Széchenyi Baths. Both bathhouses come with your usual spa treatments and thermal pools, but that’s where the similarities end.

On the Buda side of town is the famous Hotel Gellért, a beautiful art nouveau style building and home to some of Budapest’s most famous baths. Built in 1918, the complex is made up of thermal baths, swimming pools, saunas, plunge pools and even an artificial wave pool.

Unfortunately on the way to the baths we got distracted by the hotel’s amazing restaurant and spent our forints on champagne and deliciousness, not realising that we needed a fairly hefty cash deposit to hire a towel and change room. Next thing I know I’m attempting the impossible by trying to change out of a playsuit and into a bikini discretely without flashing Hungarian society folk.

We hit up the indoor and outdoor pools, but swapped the massages and manicures for chilling in the sun.

Guess who used a stylist for Coachella?

She has a reputation as a fashion icon, but it is becoming increasingly clear that not much of Kate Bosworth’s style is her own. This year at Coachella it was revealed that the actress used stylist Cher Coulter to put together her looks. Now we all know that celebrities use stylists for events like film premieres and award shows, but using one for a music festival? It seems a bit much. Working the latest pieces from Isabel Marant and Mulberry, Bosworth’s looks seemed a little contrived for the chilled-out vibe. And despite the lack of mud, she even attempted Kate Moss’ signature festival look complete with Hunter gumboots and bare legs. Let’s hope she wasn’t too busy trying to get noticed to appreciate the music.

Coachella in the Caribbean

Grab your bikinis and boardies because Coachella is going out to sea. That’s right, just when you thought the music festival couldn’t get any better, along comes the S.S. Coachella – a Caribbean-bound cruise ship that’s heading to the Bahamas and Jamaica.

Setting sail just before Christmas, the floating music festival features a pretty killer line-up of bands with what looks like a baby version of this year’s Coachella. Pulp, Hot Chip, Yeasayer, Girl Talk, James Murphy, Sleigh Bells and Grimes will all be onboard when the S.S. Coachella sets sail on its maiden voyage.

The cruise ship itself looks pretty rad. With room for almost 3,000 festival-goers, the S.S. Coachella has cabana-style alcoves for more intimate gatherings and all your usual necessities like restaurants, bars, lounges and pools. Prices start at $500 a person and climb all the way up to $9,000 a person for a luxurious cabin with a deck.

Pro surfer models for Chanel

If you’re wondering who the hot surfer dude is in the new series of Chanel ads, its pro surfer Danny Fuller. He’s the new face of Chanel fragrance Allure Homme Sport, shooting four short films at a secret break in Hawaii.

He was cast after a male model auditioning for the campaign recognized him in the reference shot the casting director was using. After pointing out it was Fuller and that he did indeed still look like the image they were trying to recreate, Chanel tracked him down to star in their campaign. The brand didn’t mess around. They brought in Kathryn Bigelow, Academy Award-winning film director of The Hurt Locker and Point Break, along with a 150-strong crew.

What surprised us was that there were no four grand, logo-emblazoned Chanel surfboards in sight. Instead Fuller used two shortboards and two grovellers, all sprayed with a metallic pearl-white paint and sponsor-sticker-free. The only nod to his sponsor RVCA was the simple pair of boardies he wore.

When asked in an interview with Stab Magazine if he got paid around the 40 grand mark, he wouldn’t give anything away, but he did say it was much, much more and that his kids would be going to private schools.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY GARMENT?

Although our garments may make you feel invincible, the swimsuit itself is rather delicate.

Make sure you follow these easy steps to make sure your piece of We Are Handsome stays with you forever!

  • Use a mild detergent while hand washing it separately in cold water.
  • Pretty please don’t tumble dry, wring, soak or bleach your garment (that’s just cruel), it’s best to let it dry in the shade.
  • Try not to leave it rolled up and wet, make sure you rinse it really well after each use, especially if you’re spending a lot of time frolicking in an infinity pool – or a non-infinity pool for that matter!
  • Please don’t iron or dry-clean it.
  • Also, try to stay away from rough surfaces as it could cause pilling, and we all know that is not a good look.

RETURNS and ORDERS POLICY

  • You must notify WE ARE HANDSOME within 7 calendar days of accepting delivery of the order AND arrange return of the item/s within 7 calendar days after receiving our email authorizing the return.

 

  • To notify WE ARE HANDSOME, email your proof of purchase, being an invoice or email confirmation from WE ARE HANDSOME, to our customer service team at customerlove@wearehandsome.com .

 

  • All sale purchases are final and cannot be returned (including exchanges, credit notes and refunds). We kindly ask that you carefully consider your items before purchasing. Sale returns will only be accepted if the merchandise is faulty or wrongly described.

 

  • During sale periods where a discount code is used, any orders placed prior to the start time of the sale will not be eligible for the discount. THIS INCLUDES CURRENT SALE: 10TH Birthday Sale

 

  • Item/s must be unworn, unwashed and in the original sellable condition. All labels, packaging and hygiene stickers must be attached and in their original condition.

 

  • Customers are responsible for organising the shipment of returns including the cost to send the return back to us. WE ARE HANDSOME is not responsible for the shipment of returns and will not replace or process a return that is lost during shipment. We recommend shipping returns through a tracked service.

 

  • It is not the responsibility of WE ARE HANDSOME to pay or reimburse customers for any government import fees, taxes and/or charges that may be applied to orders. It is the responsibility of customers to be aware of and pay any such costs that their country may apply to imported goods.

 

  • Refunds are made to the credit card that was used to make the original purchase and are for the cost of items only. Shipping costs will not be refunded. Please allow 7 business days for the refund transaction to be completed back onto your card. We will contact you via the email address listed on your order when the refund has taken place.

 

  • For exchanges, we will require a shipping payment to be made prior to re-shipment. We will request this payment from you via PayPal. The charges are as follows:
    • USA Domestic $10
    • International Express $15 (International costs will be in the relevant currency)

 

  • Due to the select nature of our product, we cannot guarantee the availability of merchandise for exchanges

 

  • Once your return order has been received your order will be processed within 7 business days. During holiday periods/sale seasons it may take longer.

 

  • We do not accept returns from purchases made through our stockists. We can only process returns on purchases that were processed through our e-boutique.

 

  • Stock quantities are not updated in real time, and therefore occasionally an item may be sold out at time of purchase. If you purchase an item that is sold out, you will be notified by email as soon as possible and offered a suitable replacement or full refund.

 

  • Delivery delays may occur during high volume and peak periods or due to unforeseen reasons. During these times, please allow an additional 7 business days for your order to be delivered. Russian/ South African customers may need more patience by reason of the local delivery system and customs­­.
