We’re loving this mix. What was the inspiration behind it?
The inspiration was some songs that I like to play, without worrying about trends. The trend is what makes you happy 😉
When did you first get the music bug?
I think was during pregnancy of my mother … hahaha. My family was very connected to music.
What music did your parents play?
My father used to listen to Earth Wind & Fire, Al Green, Billy Paul … And my mother was more danceable: Chic, James Brown and Samba.
Who would you like to play with in the future?
I like the work of Laidback Luke and also would like to play one day with Erick Morillo: The living legend!
What are the shortest shorts you’ve ever worn?
In my childhood, during gym class … The 80’s were cruel!
What’s the next big thing in music?
I think the collaborations will be increasingly larger and more frequent, bringing together both large and small artists, mixing styles and opening doors.
Any cool collaborations coming up?
I have a new project called No Breaks (played one of our tracks on this mixtape), a duet with the Swedish partner Ola Persson and soon we will have news about it! 😉
Is fashion important to music and vice versa?
The question is: fashion exist without the music and vice versa? I think the answer is “no.” Both have always gone together, influencing one another. Michael Jackson knew very well …
Do you prefer your ladies in a bikini or a one-piece?
I think every time asks for a type of clothing and I have no preference. I like it when the woman is happy with herself, wearing clothing that makes her happy at that moment.
What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you at a gig?
I was playing at a university party and a girl just took the needle of my turntable, stopping the music. All the party started booing me and I asked her why she had done it. She said (very drunk): “This song brings me bad memories.”
What do you think is the one quality that makes a DJ great?
Have the sensitivity to decide what people want and not be afraid to be bold, in order to surprise the listener.
How would you describe yourself and your style in three words?
I Love to.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
My mother told me: “The winner is the one who fought bravely to the end, not what wins.”
What’s your signature drink?
I’m not much of a drinker, but I like a good wine from time to time.
