I don’t know about you but I love books. I love soft backs, hard backs, used copies, new editions and everything in between. I also love coffee. So when I found this coffee shop, I was nothing short of totally impressed. You are looking at D’Espresso on Madison Avenue (at 42nd) in New York, this tiny coffee shop has been designed to appear as if it has been flipped on its side and the floors and ceilings are lined with a library of books. The books are only images, yes but tell me you wouldn’t want to get your coffee there in the morning? Soy latte, please! xo
Nothing says tropical holiday quite like a Balinese canopy bed. With its simple clean lines and warm teak wood, it’s not hard to imagine it draped in soft cotton netting. This one’s been handcrafted in Bali by the local and international design team at Tarita Furniture, who I’m pretty sure don’t ever wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Because anyone who’s been to this Indonesian island will tell you about the magical energy it possesses. Now I’m no expert in the transference of energy matter, but I’m certain that you’ll find that same life force in this bed. Well, that’s what I’ll be telling my boyfriend when I need to justify shipping one over into our tiny one-bedder. It really is the bed of your dreams.
I love my softback copies, my pre-loved editions & all my brand new hardbacks but this website has taken books and the shelving of them to a new extreme. BookShelf Porn is a collection of all the best bookshelf photos for people who *heart* bookshelves. Check it out.
At Craft Hatch at the Melbourne City Library on July 10th, I stumbled on some intricate jewellery made by Gemma Johnson. Her brooches & earrings were the sweetest little things I ever did see! Apparently there’s another Craft Hatch event THIS WEEKEND. giddy-up.

Designer and Prop Maker Harrison Krix spent 17 months replicating one of Daft Punk’s iconic helmets. From Scratch.
Now, this may be the nerdiest thing we ever put on our blog but this is what we love – people making a decision to DO something creative, following through and not doing it by halves. We’re more than mildly impressed.
Here’s how he did it:
