Read on for the rest of Natalia’s WAH interview and photoshoot…
How would you describe your style?
I try to compile modern with traditional and I try to tell a story with my images. I am trying to develop a clean style, with lots of geometrical aspects. I also think is very improvisational, as I always have a mood board but the weather seems to play against me.
What fashion label would be your ultimate campaign to shoot?
I would have to say Jac+Jack. I love how they use the material. It looks so raw but soft at the same time. And also Peter Pilotto, those two guys rock!
What is your strength as a photographer?
I am able to adapt really fast. When I plan something and it doesn’t go the way I imagine, I try to find other options as to how to bring things together to produce the final results that I’m looking for. I rarely cancel or postpone something. If the shoot needs to be done, it needs to be done.
Who are your influences?
I could say some big name photographers and artists here to sound smart but I don’t really know. If I have my influences as a person. I guess I was influenced a lot by my culture in what ever I do and I buy, I also go through many magazines to find inspiration. I am influenced a lot by my mood, weather and what ever I see during the day.
What is your favourite photography accessory, other than your camera?
The portrait lens (70-200mm/2.8) and 85mm-1.2, which I don’t own myself but I rented out one time. I just loved it! It’s a fast lens and the images are so sharp!
Is there anybody or anything you would love to photograph?
I would love to photograph my friend Vladimira, she a model but lives in NY and when I was starting off with my photography I never had the gods to ask her. Now I regret it. She is such a beauty.
Who or what have you learnt the most from?
I believe I learned the most from my mum, in every way. With photography, I met many great and talented people, and they all gave me so much by letting me observe, or guarding me or even just talking to me from the business side and I am so thankful.
Do you prefer a bikini or a one-piece?
I was always bikini girl but since We Are Handsome and their animal prints- definitely one piece. That is all I wear now.
Who is your photography muse?
Abbey Lee Carshaw and Arizona Muse
What would be your advice to someone trying to break into the industry?
Don’t give up. It’s a hard and long way but certainly rewarding.
Whisky on the rocks! No doubt!
We are sending big hugs and buckets of sunshine Natalia’s way for creating one of our favourite shoots. The model is gorgeous, the location is a Sydney fave and the shoot is just the right mix of sultry and sexy, we love it! xx
