The next instalment of the Handsome Project is by a We Are Handsome favourite. We asked Greg Cunningham to come back and shoot our Vintage Collection for the Project and he delivered in spades! Read on to see the rest of Greg’s WAH photoshoot and interview!
How would you describe your style?
Changing direction everyday. I am very active in trying to develop my own style and I am not sure I am quite there just yet.
What fashion label would be your ultimate campaign to shoot?
Agent Provocateur… I mean lets just be honest.
What is your strength as a photographer?
Probably my ability to adapt and be flexible with what I am given to work with. Example being that my latest WAH project was supposed to be sun filled and with a little bit of artificial lighting. Bad weather rolled in and I decided it would have to be more artificial than mixed lighting. That is until the rain blew out two of my lights. Ouch.
What is your favourite photography accessory, other than your camera?
My California Sunbounce Reflector… Seriously a must have item.
Is there anybody or anything you would love to photograph?
I would love to photograph any of the top models working right now but if I had to choose I would say Abby Lee. She is just puts out such a powerful and fearless vibe through so many images.
Who or what have you learnt the most from?
Dean Zulich is the guy who first instructed me on lighting. I would say from that single seminar I learned more about constructing light and I use those lessons on so many of my shoots.
Do you prefer a bikini or a one-piece?
I am a guy so a bikini but WAH Zipsuits are the best!
Who is your photography muse?
I really don’t have a set one just yet I guess. But I am running an ad in the classifieds section soon.
What would be your advice to someone trying to break into the industry?
Be ready to be completely frustrated by personalities and situations completely out of your control.
Dark and Stormy, please.
We would like to thank Greg for returning to the Handsome Project fold to deliver a shoot that is striking in its simplicity. We absolutely adore the construction that went in to make this shoot seem as effortless as it does. Perfection, as always!
