Paraty Beach House

While researching my end of year trip to South America, I stumbled across a cute little historical town in Brazil called Paraty. Apparently it’s known for its 19th century colonial architecture, but I can’t tell you a thing about that. I’m too busy imagining what my life would be like if I called this palatial beach house my casa. Maybe I’d be a Brazilian swimwear designer and use the beachfront pool to host collection launches. Or perhaps I’d dabble in some sort of illicit trade, making the boat-only access more of a necessity than a luxury.

MAWI: WORK IT SOMETHING FIERCE

Knuckledusters are so last season. They’re not even close to being so hot right now. What you need is something fierce to give your dainty outfit an edgy shake up. And I came to this realisation while on a recent trip to culture-diverse Newtown. There were couples of every orientation, young folk, old folk, emo’s, Goths, bikies, punk rockers and plain Janes – the cross-section of people was impressive. I looked at the table next to us: heavily tattooed and leather-clad bikies. And the table next to them: punk rock enthusiasts, complete with studded collars. Yet here I was, wearing feminine floral and soft ruffles, peering out periodically from my big black Jackie O style sunnies. I knew right then and there that my outfit was in need of some tough love. And I mean the kind of tough love that comes in the form of Mawi’s Spike Ring, a gold plated crown shaped cocktail ring with Mawi’s synonymous box chain and spike detailing.

So lose the knuckledusters, if you need to harden up your outfit just channel some inner fierce and work this statement ring with a clashing piece like a flirty floral kaftan or give your LBD a spiky twist.
