Shwood make just about the best sunglasses we’ve ever laid our eyes on. They are all handmade in Oregon (USA) out of wood. Yes, real Wood. None of this acrylic faux wood, or plastic look-a-like crap.

GET ON THE ROOF: THOMPSON LES, NEW YORK
Slip into the James Dean adorned Hollywood Scoop Back (or the Yosimite trunks, for the guys) because this is some serious rooftop pool BOOM.  Sure, Sydney’s got Ivy Pool Bar – but Ivy’s got nothing on this swanky sky-high oasis.
Thompson LES is a funky little hotel located in Manhattan’s trendy, culture-rich Lower East Side. This isn’t just the place to stay but it’s also the place to be seen. Celebs from Madonna to Rachel Zoe and Alessandra Ambrosio have all dropped in recently. The hotel’s rooftop bar Above Allen, and the surrounding pool, lounge and patio, is exclusive with a capital E. This place is members-only cool and Lower East Side hip. And if you don’t have time to mix with the cool kids (to piggyback off of their membership) simply book a room at the boutique hotel. Voila, instant rooftop pool access. But post check-in, you might not make it out of the room once you fall into the luxurious custom 400-thread-count SFERRA sheets and look up to see the headboard: a Lee Friedlander print illuminated through a lightbox. Trading Faces
I’m sorry, but since when did it become acceptable to bump one person’s face out for another? I know magazines switch bodies and heads quite regularly, but it’s so much creepier when it’s just the face.
It all started when I was flipping through an Australian men’s magazine (don’t ask) and stumbled upon a badly Photoshopped image which on closer inspection was the face of Poh Ling from Masterchef pasted onto the head of a stripper to see what she would look like with implants. WTF?! But it wasn’t until I came across these images from Vogue Nippon (Japanese Vogue) that I realised it had gone too far.

D'Espresso. Yes'o!
I don’t know about you but I love books. I love soft backs, hard backs, used copies, new editions and everything in between. I also love coffee. So when I found this coffee shop, I was nothing short of totally impressed. You are looking at D’Espresso on Madison Avenue (at 42nd) in New York, this tiny coffee shop has been designed to appear as if it has been flipped on its side and the floors and ceilings are lined with a library of books. The books are only images, yes but tell me you wouldn’t want to get your coffee there in the morning? Soy latte, please! xo
Littledoe is Love
Forget digging through piles of over-priced feathers, tulle, lace and whatever other crap can be glued to a clip. If you’re going to splash out on something new for racing season in Australia, it should be something handmade, not mass-produced. Take a peek at the pieces from American label Littledoe and you’ll see what I mean.
Created by inspiring designer Chase Cohl, these feathered headdresses and floral halos have a distinct Little House on the Prairie vibe going on.
