Inspiration

When the day is done and you rest your head,
Dream only of hues in orange and red.

Erin Case creates collages that mix the old, new and unknown into a beautiful, surreal and perfectly balanced mess. My favourites are the silhouttes/landscape combos where classic photos are cut out and layered upon choppy images of marble and dreamy mountain scapes . Her whole collection can be viewed here where I’m sure you will find a favourite.

A note from the man that I sincerely hope needs no introduction, Johnny Cash.

Hey June,

That’s really nice June. You’ve got a way with words and a way with me as well.

The fire and excitement may be gone now that we don’t go out there and sing them anymore, but the ring of fire still burns around you and I, keeping our love hotter than a pepper sprout.

Love John

Letters of Note

Like we do each season, we love to introduce you to the prints and give you a little insight into why and how we came to the image that gets finally put into the range.

The fourth print in our Romantic Collection is the Canine. We briefed ourselves on this one to find the cutest puppy on earth. One that when you looked at her you couldn’t help but have that ‘AAAWWWWWW’escape your lips.

After much searching for just the right pooch, we stumbled across little Madeline and knew she was just perfect!

Located in Búzios, the Saint Tropez of South America and my all time favourite holiday destination, is one of the most perfect beachside bars in the world. Perched high on a cliff overlooking a horseshoe bay and the heavy surf of Praia Brava is Rocka Beach Lounge.

Run by the Santiago Bebbiano, the Justin Hemmes of Brazil and one of the country’s most eligible bachelors, Rocka Beach Lounge is as close to perfection as a bar and restaurant can get. Growing up in the family’s luxurious boutique hotel Casas Brancas has clearly paid off for Bebbiano. Large leather sun lounges with umbrellas shade guests as they sip on Cham Cham cocktails (Chambord and Champagne) and dine on a sophisticated menu of fresh seafood prepared by top Argentinean chef Gustavo Rinkevich. But don’t let the exceptional service and beautiful people fool you, this place is far from pretentious. Rock up barefoot in a bikini or boardies and chill out to super cool Brazillian bossa nova while you work on your tan. Stay until the sun goes down and you might be lucky enough to experience an impromptu dance party under the moonlight to the sound of the waves.

With surname ‘Lumiere’ it was a rather appropriate destiny that chose August & Louis, two French brothers who patented the cinematograph and are regarded as some of the first film makers in history. Forget 3 hour epics – you’ll be hard pressed to find anything longer than a minute which just makes you appreciate every second that much more.

“Shot and hand-colored – frame by frame – at the end of the 19th Century. Still captivating today, but just imagine what it must have been like to watch an image move and transform like this in 1899! A beautiful example of the earliest cinematic art…”

Like we do each season, we love to introduce you to the prints and give you a little insight into why and how we came to the image that gets finally output into the range.

The 3rd print in our Romantic Collection is The Fighter. We all know that lovers are fighters. Love makes us fierce, and any love worth having is a love worth fighting for.

This print – very obviously – is for all the fighters out there.

(plus a sneak peek of what we’re working on…)
